Holidays 2014-2015 in Sendai

We just got back from spending a wonderful time at my parents’ house in Sendai. I didn’t take much photos because my camera was running low on battery but one of our main planned activities was to visit the new IKEA in Sendai. My love for IKEA is magnified by the novelty of the visits, since we live on an island with no access and IKEA does not ship most items to Hawaii.

We went early and fueled up for the marathon hike through its meandering showrooms.

I found my dream kitchen about 2 miles in.

And about 2 and a half hours later we ended up at the cafeteria, hungry.

Another one of our activities was to take Nomz to the Anpanman Museum, a theme park geared towards toddlers based on the popular cartoon character. She had a great time, and we ate lunch at the Anpanman themed restaurant. I think Japanese kids meals “okosama lunch” are one of the joys of growing up in Japan.

And Nomz got to see and play with snow for the first time! She went sledding and made snowballs. I think she’ll have an even better understanding the next time she watches Frozen.
