Brunch Date at Yogur Story

My parents were in town this week so D and I took this opportunity to leave Nomz with Jiji & Baba and go on a date. We headed to Yogur Story for brunch. It’s a cute cafe off Keeaumoku St. with yummy breakfast offerings like eggs Benedict and waffles as well as sandwiches and salads.

D’s “Oinker” consisted of fried rice, eggs, and Portuguese sausage. The pork rind on top was a cute touch.

My Hurricane Bowl: a modern bibimbap with namul, grilled kalbi and a poached egg over bacon kimchi fried rice.

For dessert we shared the Dolce De Leche waffles with caramelized banana and whipped cream on top. The batter of the waffle is as sweet as cake, so this definitely satisfied my dessert craving.

I can probably count on one hand the number of times D and I dined without Nomz since she was born. It’s a strange feeling, but it was refreshing and reminded us of the importance of taking time out to reconnect with each other.
