Bridal Shower

On Sunday I attended a bridal shower for a dear friend from college organized by her bridesmaids. It was originally supposed to happen on Saturday, but plans were derailed due to the tsunami warnings. Kochi Restaurant and Lounge kindly opened their doors just for us the following day to accommodate the schedule change.

We had the entire place to ourselves so we took over the lounge area which was perfect for playing games. The restaurant set up a beautiful buffet on the bar and provided the most attentive service (it helps that we were the only ones there :)). The bridesmaids had everything perfectly planned from the beautiful decorations and favors, to the scrumptious lunch menu, and the fun games we played.

On the lunch menu:

  • Ahi Poke
  • Salmon Poke
  • Soba Salad

  • Garlic Fried Rice
  • Yakisoba
  • Agedashi Tofu

  • Spicy Garlic Shrimp
  • Spicy Garlic Chicken with Furikake
  • Misoyaki Butterfish
  • New York Steak with Oroshi Ponzu Sauce

Here’s my appetizer plate:

And my main course:

And for dessert they served a delicious deep-fried haupia with vanilla ice cream and a chocolate cake made by one of the bridesmaids.

The wedding is less than 2 weeks away and I’m so excited for my friend! Another friend from college is flying in from Virginia to join us so it’ll be a reunion of sorts. I also happen to be helping the bride with the wedding plans and have the honor of being “wedding coordinator” for the day!
