Maui Eats – Cafe O’Lei at the Dunes

My husband and I spent this past weekend on Maui visiting the in-laws.  I love going to Maui because the vibe is so laid back there I feel like I’m on vacation the moment I step off the airplane. After my father-in-law (FIL) picked us up from the airport, we headed to lunch at Cafe O’Lei which is  located at a golf course, the Dunes at Maui Lani (FIL is an avid golfer).

The open air terrace has amazing views of the golf course and mountains of Iao Valley.

We started off with Manoa Lettuce Wraps ($6.95) with a tasty chicken and water chestnut filling. Look how beautiful these lettuce leaves are!

FIL had the Tempura Shrimp Salad ($13.95) with a ginger sesame dressing.

Hubby ordered the Crisp Boneless Chicken ($7.95) served with sweet chili sauce and a side of Caesar salad. What a deal for only $7.95!

I enjoyed my Grilled Vegetable Sandwich ($7.95) with goat cheese served with a small caesar salad. Goat cheese and marinated grilled veggies – a winning combination. I love that the sandwiches are served with a salad instead of chips or fries.

They offer local favorites with a little flair, all at great prices here at Cafe O’Lei. No wonder they’re so popular with the locals! A great way to kick off our weekend.

Cafe O Lei at the Dunes is one of my favorite places to eat – love the wraps! They also have a $6.95 plate lunch special every day that includes a main dish, rice and petite caesar.
Good food at reasonable prices. Your photos are great!

Hello Margie! Thank you for your comment. I loved it there. Who knew there was such a hidden gem in Kahului! Not too tourist-ey. What are your other favorite places to eat on Maui? So I can make a list for future visits…
