Sweet Potato Haupia Pie

Today we had a Sweet Potato Haupia Pie ($28.00) from Gyotaku to celebrate a co-worker’s birthday. I never knew Gyotaku made pastries until today. The pie (which resembles a cake more than a pie) was beautifully presented and pre-sliced for convenience.

I’m trying not to eat sugar, but I had to try a bite of this mile-high tower of crunchy graham cracker crust, sweet potato, haupia, and whipped frosting layers. A little on the sweet side, but good.
