I had lunch at Mariposa the other day. It’s always crowded for lunch here, but at 11:30am we were lucky to be seated right away. Every lunch at Mariposa begins with the signature popovers served with strawberry butter, followed by a demitasse cup of chicken consomme, a teaser to stimulate the palate.
My friend chose the Lobster Bruschetta off the daily special menu,
and I chose the Ribeye Roast Beef Sandwich ($18.00) with brie cheese and arugula, served with au jus and sweet potato fries. This was a very filling dish.
The view of Ala Moana Beach combined with high ceilings and open air make the dining room at Mariposa a relaxing setting for lunch. It was the perfect place to catch up with a dear friend and the lunch ended up like a private baby shower, as she helped me celebrate the last hurrah of my pregnancy and upcoming birth.
